What to write about
A track will not play
Apple rotates its preview URLs, and a few catalogue entries carry no preview at all. Send the track name and artist and we will check whether the catalogue still publishes a clip for it.
A running time looks wrong
Durations come straight from the catalogue, so a wrong one is usually a remaster or a live cut being matched instead of the original. Tell us which track and what you expected.
Something is unusable
Keyboard traps, unreadable contrast, a control a screen reader does not announce, anything broken on a phone. These get fixed first. Say which browser and what you were trying to do.
A bug in the wizard
The capacity meter disagreeing with the tracklist, the tray sticking, a disc that will not eject. Include the step number and roughly what you had done before it happened.
Rights and takedowns
This site stores and redistributes no audio; metadata, artwork and previews are served by Apple. If you believe something here infringes your rights, write in and identify the material.
What to put in the email
There is no form collecting this for you, so a useful report has to carry it itself. Four lines are usually enough:
- Which step. The wizard has seven, numbered in the banner and in the status bar at the bottom of the window. “Step 5, the player” narrows things far faster than “the music part”.
- What you expected, and what happened instead. Both halves matter. A disc that will not eject and a disc that ejects when it should not are the same sentence with the expectation removed.
- Browser and device. Safari on an iPhone, Chrome on Windows. Audio autoplay rules in particular differ sharply between them, so a playback report without this is hard to reproduce.
- The track, if it is about one. Title and artist. The catalogue holds several masters of most songs — a remaster, a live cut, a radio edit — and they carry different running times and different preview clips, so naming the one you saw matters.
A screenshot helps and is never required. Do not send anything you would mind being read in an ordinary inbox; this is a plain email address, not a secure channel.
What happens to your message
It arrives in a mailbox and is read by a person. It is not fed into a ticketing system, a CRM or a mailing list, and you will not be subscribed to anything by writing in. Replies come from the same address. Expect a few days rather than a few hours — this is a side project, not a support desk, and the honest answer is better than a fast one.
Accessibility reports and broken previews are the two categories that get looked at first, because both mean the site is failing at something it claims to do.
What will not get an answer
Requests to add a link, buy a guest post or place an advert. This site carries no advertising and sells no links, so those go unread.
